Frequently Asked Questions

Do you take insurance?

We check every client’s insurance benefits prior to initiation of therapy services. Our team can help you determine your costs and options for payment. We also offer cash-pay discounts.

What can I expect?

Your plan of care will usually consist of 6-12 treatment sessions. The number of visits may be less or more and depends on your individual needs and progress. Clients often begin to see improvements after the first couple of visits when they are consistent with their home program.

Your first appointment includes a detailed pelvic floor evaluation. This evaluation includes getting to know your needs and goals by discussing your medical history, current concerns, and desires, as well as a physical exam. We work together to set goals and develop a plan to empower you to regain control of your bladder, bowels, and/or pelvic pain.

After your initial evaluation, treatment sessions may include behavior training, myofascial release and soft tissue work, pelvic floor and core exercises, and biofeedback. Biofeedback connects your pelvic floor muscles to a computer screen. It gives you a great visual of how your pelvic floor muscles and core are working. We take a mind, body, and soul approach to ensure that you feel empowered and able to manage your own care.

Do I need a prescription?

Colorado is a direct access state, which means you can access therapy without a referral/prescription. If you plan to submit a claim to insurance, a referral is often required. Our team can help you obtain a referral by contacting your physician’s office if you wish.

Why occupational therapy?

Occupational therapists are holistic medical professionals that exist with the purpose to help clients fully engage in what they want and need to do in their daily lives. Occupation just means the things you do that occupy your time. When pelvic muscle dysfunction causes us to feel like we are living in the bathroom, keeps us from playing with our kids, exercising, socializing, or even intimacy, it has a direct impact on how we occupy our time and thoughts. We are trained in treating the mental and physical aspects involved with this very sensitive part of your life. It’s our goal to help you feel confident and in control of living your best life.
